Shop it to me – An easy way to shop with good deals

Posted by editor On April - 8 - 2009

Well recently I learnt from a friend of mine that now you can just sit and relax at home without even having to browse numerous sites for deals because with shopittome.com they’ll email you all good deals, you just have to specify your sizes, brands that you like and they’ll find it for you. A good thing is you can set whether you want to receive good deals everyday or just two days a week or just during weekends so you won’t be bother by the default everyday emails.

Shopittome.com will not make you purchase items from them but instead you’ll go to the website directly and make all purchases there directly with the merchant, it is merely a tool to help you shop better and more efficiently. The company is a new bay area start up established in 2007.

How To Dress Yourself Like a Stylist

Posted by Smurfette On February - 21 - 2009

Not everyone is born with a sense of style. Most of us should learn how to dress ourselves. The learning process can’t be just from flipping the pages of Vogue (unless you have a body of a supermodel). The most important thing that I learned about dressing myself is to know my own body. That way, I can wear something that flatters my body in spite of my imperfections.

The Pocket Stylist: Behind-the-Scenes Expertise from a Fashion Pro on Creating Your Own Look

I like this book a lot, mainly because it is very straight forward. It only tells you what you need to know, not much fluff. It teaches you how to determine your body type, what will look good on your body type (from tops to shoes), and how to shop. The book is also not too thick, which is a plus for me. Sometimes, I take this book with me when I go shopping.

How do you get the Classy Hermes look without breaking the Bank?

Posted by editor On February - 20 - 2009

Hermes is famous for its humongous price tag (10,000 and above), as well as for its quality. So how do you get that classy look of hermes without draining your savings? well here’s couple options for Hermes look-a-like but remember they’re not Hermes replica!

This lovely pink is a stamped croco on leather by Samantha Thavasa, sot about $460.00

What makes it look so Hermes-like? Its front padlock and enclosure is definitely a birkin inspired.
You may also look at some italian shops such as Forzieri.com they sell hermes-look-a-like by Fontanelli as well, please see their bags bellow:

Pink one cost $386.00 cream one cost $489.00 (they’re both stamped ostrich and croco on leather, not real one) Another good place to look at is a European online site called pierotucci.com

this Pierotucci bag cost $353.00
for your reference I post the real Hermes bag pics bellow:

Got “faked” on ebay, Get Your Money Back

Posted by Smurfette On February - 18 - 2009

I love to shop on ebay. When I told people that I shop on ebay, I often got negative reactions. Most of the negative reactions were because they got “faked” on ebay. I strongly suggest that before you buy anything “branded” on ebay, you should do your homework and just google “how to spot a fake (whatever you’re looking for)”. It is easier to avoid bad transaction than trying to get out of it.

Until recently, I haven’t got “faked” on ebay, as I always purchase my stuff carefully. However, last week, I purchased a MAC brush (cosmetic brush) from ebay, and got “faked”. It’s sad that people made a “fake” out of a $20 item. Anyway, here are the steps that you should do in case you got “faked”:

• Contact the seller (Via ebay messaging or paypal resolution center)
You should contact the seller via those methods only so that ebay or paypal will have the record of your communication with the seller.
• Open a dispute in the PayPal resolution center
• Negotiate to resolve dispute
• Close the dispute or escalate to a claim
• Paypal will investigate and resolve the claim

This can be done only if you pay with paypal, I strongly recommend paying with paypal whenever you shop on ebay. It is the safer way to pay. You can find the detail about the dispute resolution on paypal.com. You need to sign in to be able to find the info. Don’t forget to report the fake item to ebay, to prevent fraud on other buyers. Oh and one more thing, I received a full refund for my FAKE mac brush and the seller did not even want the fake brush back.

Happy Shopping!

Get The Look For Less – Louis Vuitton Speedy

Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 Epi Leather Retails for $1,050.00

When I look at the Speedy 30 Epi, I always think of it as a classic handbag. I love classic handbags for many reasons. First of all, they will never go out of style. Second, we can wear it with anything, especially when they are in neutral colors. For those reasons alone, I think it is wise to make the investment. However, not everyone is willing to spend a thousand dollars just for a handbag, especially in today’s economy. Don’t worry ladies, you can still be stylish without breaking the bank. Here I found a bag that has a very similar silhouette and size for a lot less. It’s Elliot Lucca Runway Satchel (I’m saying a lot less because the LV bags are never on sale, on the other hand EL bags are very often on sale, I got mine for a little bit over a hundred dollars from off 5th)

The way I wear this bag is without the EL charm, since I don’t like any logo on my bags and also that way it looks more like the LV speedy 🙂

Variety kinds of panties – panties style guide

Posted by editor On November - 7 - 2008

There are different kinds of paties out there so what is your panty styles?

panty01 panty02thong-back

Thong – these bareback basics panties have much practical purpose, in that they eliminate unsightly panty lines under skirts and snug-fitting pants. Among thongs categorie here are the most common thong varieties:

G-strings feature little more than a triangle of fabric in front and a thin “string” of fabric around the hips and down the back. This is one of the skimpiest thong styles and is best reserved for wearing undertight-fitting bottoms to eliminate visible panty lines. (see g-string thong pictures bellow)

g-string-1 g-string

V-strings are similar to G-strings but feature a rear string that separates into a “V” of two strings (or a small triangle of fabric) at the rear waistband. (see v-string thong pictures bellow)

v-string-back-front v-string-back

T-backs have waistbands or strings that stretch straight across your waist; so from the back, the side and bottom straps have a “T” shape. (see T-thong pictures bellow)

t-thong-2 t-thong-front

Rios are similar to T-backs except the waistband rises above the hips at the sides instead of sitting straight across your waist and back. (see rio thong pictures bellow shown on man and woman)

Tangas offer the most coverage of any thong style. They generally have wide waistbands and back straps. (see tanga-thong pictures bellow)

Bikinis – give full coverage in the back with leg openings that are cut above the thigh. Most bikinis sit about three inches below the natural waistline, although with the popularity of low-rise pants, some are now cut even lower.

classic bikini offer comfort and full back coverage (can be high-rise / above waist-line or can be low-rise / bellow waist-line) (see classic bikini pictures bellow)

bikini-front bikini-back

lace bikini / brazilian bikini offer comfort and style at the same time with good coverage as well as style through lace material that often being incorporated into the brazilian bikini fashion. (see brazilian bikini pictures bellow)

Side-tie bikini offer fun styling by adding ribbon tie as a twist in its fashion (it can open up – so becareful to tighten up those bow-ties) (see side-tie bikini pictures bellow)

String bikini born out of creativity by thinning the sideline, sometimes there can be single string, double strings or even tripple strings bikini (see string bikini pictures bellow)

Boy-cut short, Culottes & Hipsters Briefs

Boy-cut short is a full-coverage panty style with a low-riding waistline and leg openings that rest just above the thigh. Because they sit so low on the waist, boy shorts can visually lengthen your torso (see boy-cut pictures bellow)

boyshort-01 boyshort-back

boyshort-02 boycut-lace

Culottes is cut like a boy-cut short except it looks like a skirt wrap/mini divided skirt. (see culottes pictures bellow)

Hipsters Briefs – offer the same low-riding waistline as boy shorts, but the leg openings hit well above the thigh, helping to avoid the fabric “ride-up” you sometimes get when wearing longer-cut boy shorts. While hipsters are generally considered a full-coverage style, some may be cut a bit higher in the rear than classic boy shorts or briefs

panty07 panty04

Modern briefs, like traditional briefs, offer full front and back coverage, but have a lower rise. Their waistbands sit a few inches below the natural waistline.

briefs french-cut-brief

High-cut briefs offer the same full coverage as traditional briefs, but have high-cut leg openings in front. The waistband sits at or just above your natural waistline.

French-cut briefs (picture shown bellow) have the highest-cut leg openings of all brief styles. The leg openings hit the highest point on the hip and are positioned more to the front of the panties than the standard high-cut brief. The waistband should sit at your natural waistline.

Control briefs (picture shown bellow) are meant to slim your tummy, bottom or upper thighs. They look like traditional or high-cut briefs, but feature control panels at the front, rear or both.

I am an oenophile, and enjoy drinking red wines and of course, always enjoy shopping and tasting new wines.

I won’t say that I have a very sophisticated palate in tasting red wine, but I generally find that award-winning wines that have competed in blind tasting competitions would give me some indicator to the quality of the wine.

I found this trick or hack for you to list the Gold Medal wines in BevMo (bookmark this link) and you will be able to sort the wines:

Visit Bevmo here .

  • Gold medal wines
  • Sort the price from Low to High
  • And… now you can get the wine for the best value (so to speak).

FYI, here in San Francisco Bay Area, I have a few wine stores that I enjoy shopping at:

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have other findings to share with other oenophiles!

Disclosure: I love new world wines (Napa Valley) better than old world wines.

I have been using T-Mobile for $59.99 per month. The reason that I stayed with T-Mobile for so long is that I like their GSM network so I can send text message (SMS) internationally. Now that my contract has expired, however I am looking for a better deal for my wireless subscription to save money, especially on the recurring monthly bills such as cellphone service.

Anyway, I have been shopping for a new phone and found that the SERO plan from Sprint to be the best deal.

For $29.99 per month, you get:

  • 500 minutes anytime
  • Unlimited nights and weekends starting 7 PM.
  • Unlimited Text messaging for domestic (very cool)
  • Unlimited Data and Internet Surfing (very, very cool, as Sprint has broadband speed capability).

Normally this Sprint plan will cost over $70.00 per month if you sign up from normal plan. So you could potentially save around $40.00 per month, annually $480.00

And by the way, Sprint has 30-days return guarantee.  Please do let me know  or comment if you have or know of a better deal for wireless service.

How to sign up:

1) Visit http://www.sprint.com/sero
2) For referral email, enter savings@sprintemi.com
3) Enter your zipcode

PS. You want to ensure that your current contract with your carrier has ended, otherwise there maybe a termination fee charged.
