Practical Tips For Women and More

usps-postage-stamp-print-label-at-homepaypal-shipping-usps-first-class-free

You know that you can visit USPS online at www.usps.com and print your own Priority Mail label. It is all good, except the fact that you can only print Priority Mail and Express Mail labels online. The only other way to directly print First Class labels are to use subscription based services such as www.stamps.com and www.endicia.com, in which you must pay monthly fees.

If you have a PayPal account, here’s how you could easily print your own First Class Mail stamp and Media Mail stamp at home. You could access it here.

Note that PayPal does not actually advertise this service, as this service is primarily for the convenience of eBay sellers to print the pre-paid shipping label. But you could access PayPal Shipping to print labels, by going to this link.

For your Information
In terms of price and the delivery time, here are the order (from the cheapest to the most expensive):

1) USPS First Class Mail

2) USPS Priority Mail

3) USPS Express Mail

There is also Media Mail ( www.usps.com/prices/media-mail-prices.htm) which is cheaper than First Class Mail, but it is limited to sending books and media.

Hope this information helps.

Many thanks for the tip on how to print USPS First Class Mail postage on-line. It was of great help today for my own personal use.

  3. Thanks for the link. I couldn’t find it on paypal at all, they really don’t want you to use it. This will save me alot in shipping!

  4. Mike says:

I use this often, even with personal mail.
Too bad we can’t do First Class International without a pay service!
I have about 5-10 FCI packages a month, not worth $15.99 for a pay service.
But yes, you can print your own First Class Mail stamp and Media Mail stamp using your Paypal account. The link is the same as for shipping any other item in Paypal, just cut off the details at the end after “…ship-now”.

  5. Stephanie says:

Thanks so much. I wonder why Paypal makes it so difficult. Since I have a Paypal account you would think they could help us out – oh, silly me :-) How do I find the link in Paypal? What feature is it under – just in case the link changes or I am on another computer and forget. I couldn’t find it under shipping options. Thanks.

  6. sdfgsdfg says:

Too bad there isn’t a way to use this without having to give Paypal your bank account number (which I refuse to do)

  7. E says:

Great tip! I hate running to the PO with small mailings. I can’t believe they hide this from you.

Thank you! Over two years later, and there’s still people (like me) who don’t know of this. And it still works! I’ve had a PayPal account and been trading/auctioning things (every once in a while) for years, even searched for a First Class solution a few times. My brain’s broken. :)

  11. Dorothy says:

This is sooooo helpful!!!!! Thanks so much!! In Paypal, under “my account”, click “overview”, then in the web address, erase everything after the =_ then type
ship-now , so the end of url looks like =_ship-now . And voila!! fill in and print
and pay postage! I just printed a first class label. So easy !! Thank You!!!

  12. james says:

Thanks for the link! You’ve made life SO much easier with this link for First Class Mailings!!!!!. Being 7 months pregnant and taking a 2 year old in and out of car seats and stores can make running to the Post Office for a little First Class Mail shipment seem like a huge chore. THANK YOU for posting this link!!!!!!!

  15. Gen says:

Well, I thought this my answer to having to go buy stamps on a regular basis. But not so – there is not an option for FIRST CLASS LETTERS – it has to be a parcel. Oh well, will keep looking for a solution to print a regular old first class stamp on my christmas cards………….

  16. mindi says:

Thank you. This information was very helpful.

  17. LOlson says:

Bummer, I was hoping this would allow International First Class labels, but only Priority and Express are an option for International…

  18. Taylor says:

  19. Chris says:

Does anyone know if I can adjust the printing size on a Paypal label? When I print out on 4 label per sheet’s, it just overlaps onto another label. Also is there a way of selecting the position of the label, e.g. top left, bottom right?
    Thanks in advance, Chris.

Thank you so much for making this link available! I sell on Etsy and usually have no problem shipping through PayPal from the transactions details page but during the holiday season, I have orders going out that were placed several weeks ago. Once they are two weeks old, there is no option to print them from the PayPal transaction. I have also used their Multi-Order shipping tool but when it didn’t work yesterday, I called them. Their customer service representative would not tell me how to get to this page. I knew it was there from when I sold on eBay but had lost the link when I got a new computer. I can’t believe they refused to tell me how to get to that page! But you did, so thank you so much!

  27. Thanks for the link! I’ve been try to figure out how to sent First Class Mail online FOREVER!!!!

  28. Annalisa says:

Great! Thanks so much for sharing! I just opened an online handmade jewelry store! This is going to help a lot!

  30. Rosemary says:

Wow, this is great! Thank you!!!

  31. Tezzell says:

Wow, many thanks for this. I did not know Paypal had this option available. Now all I need is a recommendation for a reliable shipping label printer!

  32. Ryan R. says:

Does not work anymore. Only does as small as first class parcel. If you want to pay $1.79 for a $.49 stamp it’s ok.

  33. wiredsanity says:

Thank you so very much for posting this info! Today you saved me $4.80. But by the end of the year the $ amount you saved me will probably be in the $100s! 100 cool points!

  34. rick stevenson says:

***even better, once you have the printing postage page up, save it to your favorites list, all you have to do now is just log in.

  35. Nancy says:

Thanks a bunch! I hated having to send stuff through Priority Mail or waiting at the post office to send first class mail.

  36. Ann Omonous says:

Thanks so much for this link! I’ve been looking everywhere to find a place to do this. I knew there had to be a way…

  37. Pam says:

Thank you so much! I spent over an hour in the USPS site and on PayPal trying to figure out how to ship first class packages and pay with PayPal, but to no avail…a GOOGLE search to your blog solved the ongoing problem of this quest!

  38. Thank you so much! I couldn’t find this link on the PayPal site either. This relieves so much frustration. Thank you!

I hate it that USPS doesn’t offer first class or media mail postage anymore. Now they make us buy from a third party. I guess PayPal has to keep the link under wraps because Stamps.com and other subscription postage sites will stomp their feet and cry. :)

  39. Marilyn Jacobs says:

I had used this before after finding out how here, but now it does not seem to be working. I get the message You have requested an outdated version of paypal. Please post if there is an update and it is still working for people.
    Thanks

  40. Marilyn Jacobs says:

Never mind – I forgot the same thing that I had trouble with before. I had not done the enable popups on my browser. If you have not sure how to do this, google the how to disable popups.
I did notice that the choices are first class package along with Priority. I thought it was just first class the last time I used it. It worked for what I needed done.
    Thanks

  41. Q. Monique says:

This post just made my ENTIRE year!!! I have been trying to figure out how I can get First Class postage printed at home without going through one of those subscription services FOREVER! Now I can do business and personal shipping without all thing trips to the post office and without actually having to get paid through PayPal! LOVE IT. Thanks a million for discovering this and sharing it!

  42. Kathy says:
