Thank you favor for guests – home entertaining

Posted by editor On September - 25 - 2009

Recently I just held a house blessing at home and I did a lot of research for what I should give my guests when it’s time to say good-bye. I would like to give them a thank note but I think that’s quite simple so I decided to buy these martha stewart favor package from michael’s – it’s a pretty easy craft project (everything is pre-cut ready to fold I just need to add ribbon to make it a little prettier and for the filling I just need to toss couple of chocolate inside each of the daisy box) then voila I got my thank-you favor for my guests.

Another idea I found rather sweet is to use the real pink flower as a placecards:

I just got back from the Mexico weekender cruise by Carnival. I remembered I had so much fun while I join the origami towel session (lesson to make stuff animal from folding towels – above pictures are my own creation). Yes the Cruise Ships stewards actually do this as a customary to greet their guests, so each night their guest came back to their cabin they had folded towels into neat animals. Won’t it be fun to treat guests coming to your place with these stuff animal towels? especially for if you’re thinking of making event this Easter season – it surely can be a good part of Easter’s gathering activity.

Watch how to do it here:

Easter decoration ideas: bunny candles,

Posted by editor On March - 18 - 2009

Celebrate this Easter season with a little style. You may start by putting this cute bunny Easter candles as a center piece or on top of welcome cupcakes, such as featured above (it’s from wrapables.com). Decorating the table with these cute vintage chick salt and pepper shakers as table ornaments may also be a good idea.

Another one not to be left out is a very sweet carrot guest place holders can really get the Easter spirit going.

I also took some photographs from my April ’09 Better Homes and Gardens magazine, hope this small scans can bring inspirational ideas for you:

keeping the interior with sunny bright color palettes is a great idea for this spring.

Try to accentuate the home with accent pieces from organic material such as planting plants and flowers inside hatched eggs.

Eggs as decorations. Shown above painted eggs with carnations as center piece and eggs glued with decorating paper and ribbon as decorations and door-prize.

It’s Barbie’s 50th Birthday!

Posted by Smurfette On March - 9 - 2009

I grew up playing with Barbie.  She had a lot of clothes and shoes and she always looks good in any of them. My first Barbie doll had long blond hair and I quickly learned that her hair is more delicate than mine. I once washed and blow dried her hair. After that her hair was never the same again.

I can’t believe that today is Barbie’s 50th birthday! She made her debut on March 9, 1959. By the way, do you know Barbie’s official name? It’s Barbara Millicent Roberts.  For the longest time, I’ve only known her as Barbie.

Do you think Barbie looks like this now that she is 50? I think this Barbie is too old to look 50. I always assume Barbie will still look hot in her fifties. This is probably suitable for 70 year old Barbie. What do you think?
