Destination wedding has become quite popular recently. Here’s one example of beach wedding conducted in Bvlgari, Bali. If it is an intimate small wedding, very private with a private beach access that no one else can claim except you then you might consider to have it in this kind of setting.

French Country Side - romantic vacation in France

14 July, 2008 (12:14) | travel & leisure | By: editor

hill-france

When I think of France I think of romance, but not romance in a country much more of a city. The city of Paris, where the Eiffel Tower rest, and a walk under glittering moon light near the Seine river or perhaps a romantic dinner cruise along this river bank. Then the walk on Champs Elysees or Rue Cler, and a time spen in a Luxembourg Castle and Gardens.

Well enough of that Notre Dame, Arc de Triumphe and all things near Paris, with seeing this pictures -Thanks to geniusbeauty.com for taking and sharing this beautiful French country side pictures with all of us (need to see more pictures? click here) - I come to realize how the beautiful romantic country-side romance should feel. Like spending time walking along the mountain, the field, enjoying views of small town in vast landscape - just magnificent.

Anyone interested in France maybe should check out this useful link on hotelscheap.org, it provide information about hotels and stay as well as places to look at.

Ice bars, Ice hotels and now… Ice weddings!

Finally, proclaiming your white wedding can be a reality - everything will be in white including your venue setting –> a venue completely crafted from ice! Bellow is showing a wedding in an ice church .

Eternal vows in an ephemeral church
The need to show respect, to focus on one’s own thoughts and reflect on the nature of things is a feeling you get from an encounter with ICEHOTEL. Many pieces of life’s puzzle seem to fall into place here, in the ice chapel on the Torne River.

The ceremony and the unique experience of the place, the ice, the snow and the almost unreal environment leave no-one untouched. And perhaps the shared memories and experiences are stronger for the very reason that the chapel is impermanent. When no architectural memento exists, the memories and the vows exchanged are especially cherished.

More and more couples are doing this out-of-the-ordinary wedding setting. Isn’t it special to have a winter white wedding in reality? Discover more information for venue and more here and here .

The Rotating Tower - Dynamic Architecture in Dubai

11 July, 2008 (00:52) | design | By: editor

rotating tower 01

The Rotating Tower, Dubai - will be the first real example for demonstrating the dynamic in architecture. The building can move on its own, spinning 360 degree continuously.

The Dynamic Tower offers infinite design possibilities, as each floor rotates independently to create a building that constantly changes shape, resulting in a unique and ever evolving architectural structure.

“The Dynamic Tower is environmentally friendly and the first building designed to be self-powered, with the ability to generate its own electricity, as well as for other nearby buildings, it achieves this feat with wind turbines fitted between each rotating floor, An 80-story building will have up to 79 wind turbines, making it a true green power plant,” Dr. Fisher stated.

The Dynamic Tower is also the first skyscraper to be built entirely from prefabricated parts that are custom made in a workshop, resulting in cost savings, this approach known as the Fisher Method, also requires far fewer workers on the construction site, thereby dramatically lowering construction costs.

“Each floor of the building can be completed in only seven days. From now on, buildings will be made in a factory,” Dr. Fisher said.

By combining motion, green energy and efficient construction, the Dynamic Tower will change architecture as we know it, and herald a new era of Dynamic Living.

rotating tower 02

The building will have 80 floors with apartments’ units ranges in size from 124 square meters (1,334 SF), to Villas of 1,200 SM (12,916 SF) complete with a parking space inside the apartment. The height of the building will be approximately 420 meters (1,380 feet) tall - close to that of Malaysia’s Petronas Tower.

Some other interesting facts:

The Dynamic Tower offers infinite design possibilities, as each floor rotates independently at different speeds, resulting in a unique and ever evolving shape that introduces a fourth dimension to architecture, Time.

The Dynamic Tower is environmentally friendly, with the ability to generate electricity for itself as well as other buildings nearby making it the first building designed to be self-powered, it achieves this feat with wind turbines fitted between each rotating floor. An 80-story building will have up to 79 wind turbines, making it a true green power plant.

Designed by visionary Italian architect Dr. David Fisher, the Dynamic Tower is the first building in history to introduce a fourth dimension to architecture, “Time”, the Dynamic Tower will continually reshaped, allowing the sun to both rise and set from the same view, The buildings can also be adjusted to the season, the weather, or to capture a special moment.

This tower provide elevator for the car up till the 80th floor. You don’t have to worry, cuz you’re bringing the car with you - close to where you sleep! (look at the car elevator picture above)

rotating tower 06

The image above explain about the turbin generating energy - a new era of green building:

The building generates electricity from wind turbines mounted horizontally between each floor, eighty story building will have up to seventy nine wind turbines, making it a true green power plant while traditional vertical wind turbines have some environmental negative impact, including obstruction of views and the need for roads to build and maintain them, the Dynamic Tower’s wind turbines are practically invisible and extremely quiet due to their special shape and the carbon fiber material they are made of.

Another environmentally green element of the Dynamic Tower is the photovoltaics cells that will be placed on the roof of each rotating floor to produce solar energy, approximately 20% of each roof will be exposed to the sun, so a building that has 80 roofs will equal the roofing space of 10 similar size buildings.

rotating tower 05

Interesting fact I read about this tower: The tower has a core turning point, so to allow each floor to rotate independently with different speed and direction continuously. It uses voice recognition technology to determine rotational direction. The unique thing about it is that the voice recognition program can recognize “left” and “right” in every languages of the world!

Bulgari being the famous brand in jewelry market now branching its hotel properties outside Milan, creating one that is very private and beautiful in Bali, Indonesia.

Blending the traditional Balinese style with contemporary Italian design, the Bulgari Resort in Bali is located near the village of Pecatu and the stunning cliff top site of the Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple, on the island’s far southwestern tip. Uniquely positioned at more than 150 meters above the sea shore, the resort offers unrivalled views across the Indian Ocean. Nestled between the cliff and the ocean, a 1.5 kilometer long beach is accessible only through the resort’s inclined elevator.

Designed by architects Antonio Citterio and Partners, the 59-villa resort reflects a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Balinese design while conveying the distinctive Bulgari Italian style.

I think personally it’s a very intimate and perfect romantic setting for a special couple vacation however each night will cost roughly at about $1,500 for each villa.

Feast up with the sumo wrestlers’ way - get fat the healty way!

9 July, 2008 (22:20) | food & cooking, health & diet | By: editor

I enjoyed shabu-shabu for a long time, I always thought of it as a healthy food. Little that I know that shabu-shabu is quite similar of that called chanko-nabe, a type of clay-pot dishes that has been associated to be the sumo wrestler’s diet.

It’s just surprising to know lots of veggies and little thin pieces of meat can bulk us up - well perhaps the noodle that does it. I am not quite sure really how this type of food come to be the feast of the sumo wrestlers, I always thought they would do lots of junk food such as burgers and chips.

Interested to find out more? Visit here for more sumo stew and here for more about nabemono (clay-pot) style dishes.

By the way this is a really fun thing to read - Tips on how to increase your body weight:

1. Skip breakfast. By depriving their bodies of food after eight hours of sleep, their metabolic rates stay low.

2. Exercise on an empty stomach. If their bodies have
no food, their metabolic thermostats are turned down even lower to conserve fuel.

3. Take a nap after eating. The Sumo secret for gaining weight is that, after eating, they sleep for at least four hours.

4. Eat late in the day. Going to bed with full stomachs means that their bodies must respond to the huge flood of nutrients with a rush of insulin, forcing their bodies to store some of it in the cells as fat instead of in the muscles and organs as nutrients.

5. Always eat with others in a social atmosphere. According to leading researchers, a meal eaten with others can be at least 44 percent larger and with 30 percent more calories and fat.
